First Time Users: Follow this procedure for successful Flow Cytometry experiments:

  1. Familiarize yourself with the Flow Cytometry Core policies

  2. Read appropriate staining protocols

  3. Make an appointment with or call the Core Lab supervisor, Ingrid Schmid (X67289).
Please be prepared to provide a description of your research project in order to discuss your experiment and flow cytometry needs.  Grant information for the project is also required by the Core to fulfill its granting agencies and reporting responsibilities.

  4. Schedule an appointment with Beverly Redsar (X51043) for analysis, or Iris Williams, or Min Zhou (X67289) for cell sorting.

  5. Bring your samples to the Core Lab to have them run/sorted (You can run them yourself after taking the instructional class); cell sorting always requires assistance from core staff. Provide the Core with a Recharge Order (P-39) form at the first appointment. All charges in a given month will be accrued on one form. A new P-39 form is required for each subsequent month.

  6. Publish your results and acknowledge the Flow Cytometry Core.
